When I’m stuck or feeling slow with my paintings, I always go back to my collection of nautical images: rowboats, sailboats, buoys, oars, flags, all things ocean. They anchor me, remind me where I came from, where I’m going, and who I am in my heart. I’ve always lived on or around the ocean and this period of living in the Rogue Valley, land-locked amidst beautiful mountains has triggered a geographic homesick I’ve never experienced. Not knocking the river, the lakes, the stunning beauty around me, but do miss the sound of a seagull & the clinking of masts like I never knew I would. xo
