Mindy Carpenter is the artist and founder of Carpe Diem Papers, a greeting card and lifestyle company that is based on her original paintings. “Nostalgic art meets vintage style” best describes her unique style, celebrating everyday charm and beauty.

Mindy is from Victoria, British Columbia. Before full time painting and running a small business, she worked in the gift and stationery industry in San Francisco for fifteen years, taught English in Tokyo, and loves coffee and croissants in any city she visits. Travels and life and very fun years in the gift and stationery business brought her to Ashland, Oregon. The three unique places, including her love of travel, play an integral role in her joyful artwork. She loves passing the creative baton to others through her paintings, greetings cards, and commissions. Everyone is creative, everyone has an illustrated life.

Mindy loves painting, writing, wonderful stationery, the ocean, all things nautical, funny animals, travel, books, vintage treasures, pastries, cafes, and especially all these things at the same time, which is how Carpe Diem Papers was born. She started painting in 2009 in Sausalito, CA  It called to her, the colors, texture of paint, creative process, and the sweet times she had hanging out at the ICB Building, an extraordinary artist’s community across from the San Francisco bay. She literally sat on the dock of the bay and thought, “One day I will do this full time.” Now, she paints in a studio affectionately called “the living room” amidst tall trees and a stunning vista of the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon.
