I have lots of half finished doodles, sketches and journal entries in my journal…and only a few finished petite paintings…this one, “Le Cafe”, is in gouache and white pen in a Moleskine sketchbook, reminding me of a very perfect trip to Paris. xo
Painting a Day Project: #56
Bonjour! This petit chien captured my heart in Paris–the list of beautiful things to paint and remember are endless, but for some reason, this little guy made it to the top of the list. Painted at Jardin de Luxembourg, I will love that day & moment, and because of that, this petite peinture, forever. Wonderful […]
Painting a Day Project: #55
Cake is Good!!! More sweet treats, more white on black, cake stands & my favorite stash of vintage wallpaper. After a series of big pieces, I’m having fun doing fast, small ones: “Cake is Good”, 5×7″, mixed media on canvas. xo
Painting a Day Project: #54
I am on a sugar reduction kick right now (and it’s working, I feel great!)…however, when I’m not combing through nautical images, I inevitably end up at the visual bakery counter…cakes, tarts, pies, cupcakes, macaroons, I’m an equal opportunist sweet tooth. “Cake Stands”, 8×10″, acrylic on canvas with vintage wallpaper. xo
Painting a Day Project: #53
A weekend on the water has refreshed my love for all things nautical–the lifestyle, the imagery, the piece of mind it gives me. This is a small one, 8×10″, “Lifesaver”, acrylic on canvas. Sailing on…xo

Lots & lots of August birthday babies but today is my dear friend JC’s (aka, “Baby Bite”) 40th birthday party! It’s in Sonoma so I won’t be there in person, but definitely in spirit. Happy Birthday JC! Love you! (And yes, this little sweet treat is on it’s way to you.) xo
Painting a Day Project: #51
It’s a big birthday month for many of my August friends & family: these wonderful & cool talented women in my life all celebrate this month, Stacy, Jen, Gail, Samantha, Rachael, Amy, Erin, and Joey. Happy Birthday! xoxo
Painting a Day Project: #50
It’s a hot & humid summer day here in Ashland, OR but Mariette & I found a little painting oasis in my back yard, patio area & spent the afternoon talking, laughing, painting, admiring the sloth-like napping techniques of Gracie…but mostly we painted. “Homeward Bound”, 24 x 24″ acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. “Life’s a […]
Painting a Day Project: #49
Hello, “Tree of Life”. I’m borrowing themes from a variety of favorite artists and bringing my own slant…which I suppose, lightning bolt, is the gist of all creative growth…ok, i’m a slow learner on this one. I’m really enjoying this working on this larger format, 24×24″, acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas. “These are the days that […]
Painting a Day Project: #48
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” Thanks, Forrest, that’s been running through my brain all evening…haha. Oh, wait, they’re macaroons, not chocolates. Close enough. Back to my other favourite painting subject, sweet treats. I’m on day one of a reduced refined sugar plan so what better to […]
