I am so proud to have been part of the 1000 Journals project and am excited to participate in a new collaborative sponsored by the Art House Co-op. This one is called The Sketchbook Project and finished journals/sketchbooks will first go on tour throughout North America (journals are finally the rock stars they deserve to be!!!) and eventually find a permanent home in the Brooklyn Art Library. It’s $25 to join, they send you a blank moleskin (the very thin ones…not too intimidating to finish by January 2011…the deadline), you complete it based on a theme you have chosen from their list (I picked “A Day in the Life”) and….just like that, you are a little part of art history. It’s a journal thing. Can’t explain it but if you’ve ever been bitten by that mixed media photography, art supply, written word bug, you understand. If not, give it a try. I think this will be a very cool little project.
